Health Products Stewardship Association
Safely disposing of unused medications and medical sharps.
A new website makes it easier for Canadians to properly dispose of their unused and unwanted medications and medical sharps, reducing potential harm to people, animals, and the environment.
The Health Products Stewardship Association (HPSA) operates return programs across the country that provide a safe and easy way for Canadians to dispose of medications and other common health products.
When Accurate was hired, the client’s primary goal was to modernize the website’s design. As discussions progressed and our team performed an initial review and analysis of the site, the scope of work expanded to include an updated content structure and information architecture. The site’s existing structure was no longer intuitive, leaving valuable content buried throughout the site and making it difficult or impossible to find by visitors.
The new site is mobile-responsive with user-editable templates that allow HPSA staff the easily update content across the site. Dynamic animations were used to add visual interest and give special attention to key content and data. A custom map feature was also developed, allowing users to easily find a pharmacy closest to them that accepted unused medications and sharps.
