Brand revitalization and launch

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is a federal Crown corporation. They are Canada’s voice on standards and accreditation on the national and international stage driving collaboration and building relationships. This promotes Canadian priorities and connects our stakeholders to global networks and resources. Everything they do is aimed at improving the quality of life and economic prosperity of Canadians.

With their 50th anniversary on the horizon, the SCC executive team identified the need for a brand revitalization. This project went far beyond a logo and look and feel. It repositioned the Council’s brand to reflect who they truly are—a modern and effective regulatory body on the world stage that is an integral part of everyday life in Canada.

A lot had changed over the years in both methodologies of service delivery as well as the scope of their business. Their role as a service provider needed to be more clearly stated to stakeholders. When asked, most people could not say what SCC was or did. Accurate helped them redefine their communications in a way that clearly stated their value proposition to stakeholders, businesses and Canadians. After all, whether it’s the food we eat, the products we use, or how we get to work, every aspect of our lives is touched by standards and by extension, the work of SCC.

Our consultation process and subsequent product development roll-out helped SCC reach its goal of modernizing the brand and demonstrating its vital contribution to Canada’s health, well-being, and economic prosperity. 

In addition, the SCC’s Communications team was recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) with a Gold Quill Award for the new brand and 50th-anniversary program!
