When the legalization of cannabis was on the horizon, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) hired Accurate Creative to develop a series of videos to educate Canadians on the new rules around cannabis and border crossing. The video educates travellers and Canadians on the dos and don’ts around the movement of cannabis and international border regulations. Regardless of whether it is on your person, mailed, or shipped, moving cannabis across the border is still illegal.

We created four animated videos targeted to the general public. The first video was pre-legislation post-Royal Assent and just a bit of wording difference for the final legislation version of video one.

Our team did research, wrote the scripts, and created comprehensive storyboards for subject matter experts to approve before moving on to the final character development. Each video focused on a different part of the exit/entry laws into Canada. They had similar management of the messaging and handling of the characters, but the final key message was the same:

  • Keep it legal.
  • Don’t bring it in.
  • Don’t take it out.

Post-production included music selection, voice actors and graphic design elements to brand the series.
